Pop Warner exists to use football, cheerleading, dance and a respect for education to develop strong, smart, responsible, healthy young men and women. We give them experiences that build their appreciation for and understanding of leadership, teamwork, and discipline.

While individual statistics may be more common, particularly among older football players, Pop Warner only recognizes the athletic accomplishments of the team, not the individual. We don't track personal tallies of touchdowns or yards rushing per game. We don't count sacks or blocked kicks. We applaud the athletic efforts of the team to reinforce the importance of teamwork, with each member.

We don't try to build stars. We don't want to over-inflate a young ego, nor do we want to risk injuring the self-esteem of a young person. Whether our kids have good days or bad, they are still an integral part of our team…and always will be.

Fundraiser

Delta Bay Athletic Association is having its first HomeTown Buffet Family Night fundraiser in Concord, CA.
Date: Tuesday, February 24th from 5:30-8:30 pm.  

Remember the more families we have, the bigger percentage we get back from HTB, all you have to do is present the flyer when you are paying for your food and we will get a percentage.  All proceeds from these fundraiser's go directly to running our program, so please come and join us for Family Night on Tuesday, 2/24.

Also those of you that are signing your children up for football and cheer, you can do so at the Family Night. This year if you sign up before April 15th, you will receive $25 off of the registration fees.

Pop Warner stresses the importance of good grades because after all they are important throughout life.

Pop Warner states that participants are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher in order to be a part of the program. If the participant has less then a 2.0 GPA, they can enter a contract with a parent(s) and teachers to obtain a biweekly progress report. This report must show progress throughout the period of time specified and if sufficient progress is not made the participant will be dropped from the program.

Pop Warner also requires that every child participating in the program fill out an All American Form which is an autobiography of that child's achievements in school and community involvement over the previous year. Community involvement and GPA are calculated on a points system and if the total points are 96 or greater, the form is forwarded to local, regional, and national organizations within Pop Warner. Pop Warner recognizes qualifying student athletes at an annual dinner that celebrates their academic success and community achievements.
